SSG Bellavia, Thank you for your service and for writing this book; I am humbled, grateful and proud of what you and your fellow soldiers accomplished; Words are grossly inadequate to convey the depth of emotion that I felt at many times while reading your book; Very Respectfully, Scott Fague

David, I am almost speechless after reading your book; I found it chilling, horrific, honest beyond belief and inspiring; Thank you for your courage and sacrifice; America is forever in your debt; As much as I disapprove of U;S; involvement in Iraq I am truly grateful men such as yourself are proudly and honorably serving this nation; I also read David Stanton's book Horse Soldiers and was similarly moved by the unselfish service of our men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line and die for my freedom; Thank you for writing this memoir;

I have been reading H to H and find it difficult to put down; I teach history and I've read many military histories and soldier's memoirs from all American wars; This is hands down the most compelling book I've read of that group, and one of the finest books in general; I thank God that there were men like David and his brother soldiers there when we needed them;

I look forward to reading your book; I was with the 1st Infantry Division (MECH) form 2001 to 2005 and also served in Iraq in 2004 to 2005; I served with 2-2 Infantry during my time there; I new your Battalion CSM; It was a great lost to lose him during the battle; Thank you for keeping this part of history from going unnoticed; Victory!
